This
small village is in the Valley Ibor, on the road between
Navalmoral de la Mata and Guadalupe (Province of Cáceres,
Spain). The geographical situation of Navalvillar de
Ibor produces a very particular micro-clima which
allows the survival of certain endangered species in the
Iberian peninsula like "El Loro" (tree of the
terciaire age) or certain plants carnivores.
With
regard to the raptors, the population of vultures is one
of most important of Spain. Thus the vision of these
raptors is easy in naked eye on the rock formations of
the neighbourhoods of Navalvillar de Ibor. Also, the
stags and the hinds often surprise us in our walks
around the village. Although more difficult to see, the
wild boars also live in our forest.
As
for the specific products of the municipe, most
important are: extra virgin olive oil, the
goat's milk cheese (label of origin "Los
Ibores") , chorizo(hard pork
sausage), the ham
(jamón ibérico), all produced in an artisanal way and
according to the traditions of the Valley of Ibor.
Each
season is special in Navalvillar de Ibor.
In spring, the diversity of the
colors, the brooks, the
fragances of the genets, lavender form a perfect
framework for beautiful walks with foot or in vtt.
In summer, the situation of the village in the valley
softens the high temperatures. The public swimming pool
becomes a place of meeting during the day and a place of
diversion, the night provides of many festivals
organized there the evenings of summer. The star rain
between the 20 and on August 25 are an
unforgettable spectacle.
In autumn, the activities are
reduced, however for the
lovers of nature and the traditions always find
something to make: to see the various stages of the
vintage, collection of mushrooms, etc...
In winter, we can benefit from calms and rest which offers
to us Navalvillar de Ibor. Silence occupies the streets
of the village and the fragances of the wood of the
chimneys accompanies us in all our movements.
Also
for the children, it is a perfect place to come
into contact with nature and to learn the life in the
countryside.
Come
to visit us and tells us your experience.....
